Friday, December 13, 2013 • Blessed Yule & New Beginnings...
Hallo Beautiful People,
I am amazed by how long it's been since I've written. We had to move in September (our landlord didn't want a child in her house), and I have been growing our baby, and that is about all I've had energy for in addition to all the teaching I still do. I'm gradually winding down the teaching schedule, and we are focused now on the baby's arrival in about a month!!! We feel fairly ready.
We had so much fun at our show in July, but also realized that I really needed to focus my energy on our baby and our move, so we stopped booking shows for a time. We are missing the music and seeing all your happy listening faces! But we know we will get back to it in late spring and summer. We've already got a big show booked at a yoga festival in Virginia in late August. It may be our baby's first little tour with us. We are so excited. :)
If you are missing the music too, you can buy it up online at CD Baby and iTunes and all those other digital distribution retailers. My CDs & mp3s make great gifts. And every purchase helps support my family and gets me closer to making the next release. I'm hoping to make some progress on the vinyl release in the not-so-distant future, but of course that will depend a lot on how the birth and the baby's first few months go. We can't wait to meet our little one. And I can't wait to see my first vinyl release!
When there is news, I'll let you all know! In the meantime, know we are quietly doing some of the greatest work any of us do, growing a healthy baby.
I wish you so many blessings this Yule, Solstice, Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa - time. And I hope you have a beautiful and inspiring New Years celebration. Our baby's due date is right in between Luke's birthday and my birthday, in January. We think it's so fun that we will have a family birthday month. I've always loved having my birthday so close to the new year. It makes the new year a very powerful idea and transformational time. Our family will have that each year, with one celebratory cake. When my contractions start, I intend to start baking our cake, typically an all-day project that I think will be just perfect for helping me stay grounded for this amazing journey into motherhood.
Be blessed y'all,
Kristi (& Luke & baby)

Monday, July 1, 2013 • July 26th Trio show!!!
Hallo Amazing People,
I have a bunch of BIG news. The reason I haven't performed in so long, (and actually cancelled a couple shows - SO unlike me) is that I am pregnant (!!!), and the first trimester really kicked my butt. I was just too tired and nauseated to want to use my diaphragm as vigorously as I do when I sing for you all. But, I'm hoping that in these next few weeks, I continue to get less queasy and less tired, so I've begun to book shows for the summer. :)
Luke, the drummer I performed with in March, is the father, and we got married during summer solstice and the super full moon. It was an incredible handfasting, and our community was SO amazingly full love and support. We feel so very blessed.
And we are really happy to be performing together again, this time with my long-time bass player Kurt Meyer, for a full-length show at All That Matters in Wakefield RI on Friday July 26th. It's been far too long since I've done a show as a trio, and I so hope you'll be there to hear the band versions of the newer "Sacred Whore" songs, as well as the old favorites. The show is from 7:30-9:30, and it's $20 to attend.
Friday, July 26th

I'm hoping to work on the vinyl artwork this summer and maybe even launch the kickstarter to raise funds for pressing the vinyl this fall. Wouldn't it be AWESOME to have "skybound & anchored" by Christmas/Yule?
Thanks SO much for all your love and support! I can't do what I do without you!
Happy Summer Solstice! Be peace,
Kristi

Wednesday, January 16, 2013 • Full Feature in The Phoenix! :)
Hallo Beautiful People,
I have SO much great news to share! Yay!
Chris Conti over at The Phoenix interviewed me and wrote a great article that is online now and in print tomorrow! Check it out here!
Erin X. Smithers took an AMAZING photo of me singing my song, "Give," on the ice rink at Bright Night Providence on New Years Eve. She posted it on my Facebook page, and then realized where she had seen and heard me and "Give" before: at Bobby McFerrin's Providence performance in May! She then shared another GORGEOUS shot she had taken of me and Bobby, singing my song, "Give," at his concert at Vets Memorial Auditorium. Wow! Two amazingly beautiful photos of me doing what I love best: singing. Go to my FB page or my photos page and check them out!
And...I am so very excited about my birthday show on January 25th! It's at Roots Cultural Center in Providence, and I sure hope you'll be there to help me celebrate. I am going to do some older material to honor my entering a new decade, as well as some of our beloved favorites. :) Angela Romans will be singing some beautiful backing vocals with me too. The doors will open at 8:30 and you can just show up and pay at the door, only $6.
